The Outstanding Young Persons of Illinois Awards program (TOYP) recognizes individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 who exemplify the best attributes of young people from across Illinois. These young people come from many backgrounds and each excels in their chosen field, endeavors and show a great commitment to their respective communities.

Our chapter is extremely proud to announce that one of our own, Brad Hardcastle, has been honored as a 2026 TOYP Recipient in the category of humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership.

Brad is a System Administrator for METCAD 9-1-1, the consolidated dispatch center that answers emergency 9-1-1 calls for all of Champaign County and City Clerk for City of Hoppeston. He volunteers as an Auxiliary Officer for Hoopeston Police Department; member and Director of Hoopeston Emergency Management Agency; and the Hoopeston Jaycees where he has held several leadership roles including President, Treasurer and Chair of the National Sweetcorn Festival.

Through every role he has undertaken, and continues to actively serve as, Brad has demonstrated that service to humanity is not a single act, but a lifelong commitment. He continually uses his abilities to uplift others, strengthen institutions, and protect those around him. In doing so, he exemplifies the very heart of the JCI Creed, and stands as a model of what it means to truly make service the best work of life.

We are beyond grateful that we get to work beside him every day in our community!
