🌈June is federally recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the United States and celebrated globally to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. Pride Month commemorates years of struggle for civil rights and the ongoing pursuit of equal justice under the law for LGBTQ+ individuals. Pride month also honors the many accomplishments of LGBTQ+ individuals, especially trailblazing older adults who fought for modern equality.
