Decade Day 😎

Who says you need a fancy science lab when you have a kiddie pool and some curious minds?! 🤩

5th graders in Mrs. Wiseman’s science class dove into the world of ECOSYSTEMS with a hands-on investigation that brought learning to life! 🌎💧

Using a kiddie pool to build a 3D model, students explored freshwater, saltwater, and brackish water habitats, including estuaries and salt marshes! 🐠🌿🦐

But this wasn’t just about creating habitats! Students also investigated how salinity (the amount of salt in water) impacts which organisms can survive in different environments. They observed, analyzed evidence, and used their scientific reasoning to determine where each organism belongs! 🧠🔍

Real-world connections + hands-on exploration + critical thinking = Authentic Learning!! 💙🐻

A huge THANK YOU to Modern Woodmen of America Financial Services and Lara Jones, Financial Representative, for choosing to invest in our Viewmont Elementary Art Room! 🎨🖌️

Modern Woodmen of America believes in giving back by using a portion of their profits to support schools and organizations in their communities. The arts play such an important role in helping our students express themselves, explore their creativity, and discover their unique talents. So we are BEYOND grateful that they chose Mrs. Knowles and her Art Room as a recipient of their generosity! 🤩
