Shoutout to Ms. Knowles for doing an incredible job representing Viewmont Elementary on WHKY this morning!
As part of Arts in Our Schools Month, she shared the impact of visual arts and how our students are growing in creativity, confidence, and expression every day.
We are so proud of the way she represented our school and Hickory City Schools!
First Talk with Hal Row on WHKY kicked off bright and early with the 6:30 AM segment, and it was a great morning representing Hickory City Schools! ποΈ
In celebration of Arts in Our Schools Month, we had an incredible group on air highlighting the impact of arts education across our district.
β¨ Denise Knowles, Viewmont Elementary School Visual Arts
β¨ Richard Campbell, Hickory High School Band
β¨ Angie Allen, Northview Middle School - HCS Orchestra
β¨ Jessica Cockcroft, Hickory High School Ceramics & Chorus
Dr. Jennifer Griffin, Superintendent, even joined the conversation to show her appreciation for the arts and the important role they play in supporting student success across Hickory City Schools.
Together, they shared how the arts help students build creativity, confidence, and connectionβwhile also supporting academic success and providing meaningful opportunities for self-expression.
From performances and exhibitions to everyday classroom experiences, our arts programs are helping students thrive and find their voice.
Thank you to WHKY for the opportunity to spotlight the incredible work happening in Hickory City Schools!
