Joy VFD, in cooperation with the Texas A&M Forest Service, got its new tender today. 3000 gallons that will fill a large hole in our fleet as well as be very beneficial to our neighbors. First I want to thank all of our supporters and donors, without yall this would have never been possible. Promise Land Manufacturing also gets a big thanks as they worked with us through the whole process and delivered exactly what we wanted. Also, I’d like to thank Legend Bank Henrietta Texas for financing this whole operation until we get our grant reimbursement. I can assure you this truck will be a great benefit to all in our community. This will serve as a tender for wildland operations, a structure engine for structure fires, and a rescue truck on the road.

Joy VFD was toned yesterday afternoon to Midway School for smoke and the smell of electric fire. There was a great response from several different Fire Departments in the county to include Joy VFD, Bluegrove VFD, Henrietta VFD, Lake Arrowhead VFD, Clay County Sheriffs office as well as several others. We would like to thank everyone for all of the awesome teamwork as well as all Midway ISD personnel for all of their help. It turned out that the issue was a couple of burned up AC motors and a surge protector. We are very glad that it was nothing more than what it was. Midway ISD did a great job making sure all of the children were safe and taken care of. Thank you again to all who helped with this incident.

So we here at Joy VFD would like to send out our sincerest thank you to all of our supporters who turned out last night to support us at our Fish Fry fundraiser. We had a great turnout and it is really appreciated. Our dessert auction was a big hit as well as our raffles. Congratulations to Ted Conrady for winning the AR and $100 gift card to Waggoner boot center. Congratulations to all of our other winners as well. A special thank you to all of the donors who made this possible to include Marksmen outfitters, Kerr Feed, Rocking M Ranch Distillery, Howard Walkers True Value, Waggoner Boot Center, and Mabel Co. Also a special Thank You to all of those that donated desserts for the auction, I can’t tell you how much we all appreciate it.

The Joy VFD will be putting a Radical Arms RF-15 in 5.56 into our raffle at our fish fry on 04/18/26. The winner will be able to pick up at Marksman Outfitters in Wichita Falls or be able to trade it in for store credit. As always tickets are available in advance or at the fundraiser. We will have the beautiful pillow from Mable and Co, the 1/2 ton of cattle cubes from Kerr feed and grain in Henrietta, as well as a $100 gift card to Howard Walker True Value Hardware in Henrietta and a $100 gift card to Waggoner Boot Center in Henrietta. Y’all be sure to be careful with anything that might create a spark today. Conditions are very favorable for large fires with extreme behavior. I’d prefer to keep our guys at home with their families and safe today. We will always turn out to help if we are needed though. Y’all be careful!!!
