Sharing some great community news from our rural program! Be A Mentor was truly happy to accept the invitation to celebrate Ebony’s Safe Space at their Ribbon Cutting on Friday evening, August 21! ✂️🎉
We’re grateful to be part of the Antelope Valley Chamber of Commerce community and proud to be a friend and supporter of Ebony's Safe Space.
Having a team of Licensed Clinical Social Workers on hand and in our schools every day—under the supervision of founder Ebony Wilson—is making a meaningful impact on youth across the Antelope Valley. 💙

We’re excited to continue building connections with community partners who are committed to supporting the mental health, emotional wellness, and success of our young people.

We are looking for caring, compassionate people to help kids in the Antelope Valley who really need someone -- like you! 💗

Be A Mentor, in partnership with Lost Angels Children's Project, provides mentoring to youth ages 10-17 impacted by violence and in an area where there are few resources and support available.

Our mentoring program has the goal of preventing youth from becoming involved in the juvenile justice system or re-entering the system.

Some news from our rural program in Palmdale! Specialist Steven Vidal from the California National Guard stopped by to observe our program in action as he prepares to launch our mentoring programs in Willits and Kelseyville this fall.

Our mentors and mentees enjoyed spending time with Specialist Vidal, working through their “Positive Action” curriculum and participating in a brief Q&A session. It was a great opportunity for our youth to share their experiences and for Specialist Vidal to see the program firsthand! 🙌

We had a special guest join Palmdale Be A Mentor on Wednesday, August 19! 💙

Wahoo! On Friday, August 14, we were able to treat some of our amazing Be A Mentor youth and mentors to a day at Universal Studios! 🎬🎢

Thanks to one of our incredible mentors who had tickets donated, and to Deputy Ascensio with Palmdale YAL for driving us, our crew got to enjoy a day full of fun, laughter, and memories together. ❤️
TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY!!! 🙌🏽✨

Our Summer Picnic was pure joy!
From games and kickball to cookie decorating and backpack giveaways, it was an amazing day celebrating our East Bay youth and mentors.

Thanks to the generous support of Family Giving Tree, we were able to provide 60 backpacks filled with supplies to help youth start the school year strong.

We’re also deeply grateful to community partners like Kaiser Permanente and others who helped make this event possible through their support and to Faith Fellowship for sending wonderful volunteers!
