We train for the call, we stay ready for the call, and when our neighbors need us, we answer the call. Proud to be part of a department that's always ready to go.

Firefighters from Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services put this priority into practice by responding to four consecutive emergency mutual aid calls from the Wall Volunteer Fire Department to combat

🇺🇸 HEROES AMONG US | LIFESAVING ACTIONS RECOGNIZED

When seconds mattered and a life hung in the balance, these four firefighters answered the call.

During a critical medical emergency, their quick thinking, exceptional teamwork, and decisive lifesaving interventions turned a life-threatening situation into a successful save.

We are proud to recognize Captain Michael Waddell, Captain Gavin Maltais, Lieutenant Christopher Hook (not pictured), and Firefighter Dietrich Smith, who were presented with the Department of the Air Force Award for Civilian Achievement for their extraordinary actions.

Their efforts are a powerful reminder that being a firefighter is about far more than fighting fires. It's about being there when someone needs you most, having the training to act, and refusing to give up when a life is on the line.

Four firefighters. One team. One life saved.

These men are heroes, and we couldn't be prouder to have them representing Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services.

Congratulations, gentlemen. Outstanding work!

🔥 Door Key Road Fire | Mutual Aid 🔥

Four mutual aid calls in less than a week. Our crews have answered every one.

Yesterday, Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services was back on the road, this time responding to the Door Key Road Fire alongside several of our neighboring departments.

This one burned approximately 425 acres before crews brought it under control. Most importantly, no structures were lost.

A big thank you to Wall,Texas Volunteer Fire Department , Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department , Christoval Volunteer Fire Department, East Concho Volunteer Fire Department and the Texas A&M Forest Service for the work put in on this fire.

It's been a busy stretch for our firefighters and our neighbors. We appreciate the opportunity to help protect the communities around us.

Four calls. Four responses. We'll be there when you need us.

Three fires. Three mutual aid requests. Three times we’ve answered the call.

Yesterday afternoon, Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services was once again requested to Susan Peak Road, this time for the Upton 3 Fire. Tanker 6 responded to provide water supply as crews worked a fast-moving, wind-driven grass fire.

It’s been a busy few days in this area, and crews from across the Concho Valley have continued to show up for one another when additional hands, trucks, and water are needed. Wall,Texas Volunteer Fire Department, Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Texas A&M Forest Service, Christoval Volunteer Fire Department.

Proud of our Goodfellow crew and all the firefighters who spent another afternoon and evening working the fireground.

Yesterday, the tones dropped, Wall,Texas Volunteer Fire Department needed water, and our crew went to work.

Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services responded with Tanker 6 to support crews working the Upton Ranch Fire off Susan Peak Road. What started as a lightning-caused grass fire turned into a long day on the fireground as changing weather conditions kept crews working into the evening.

Our job was simple: keep them supplied with water so they could keep fighting fire.

A lot goes into a wildland response, and every apparatus and every firefighter has a part to play.

Proud of our crew for putting in the work, helping where we were needed, and getting home safe.

Until the next call.

343 answered their final alarm. Thousands of lives were changed forever. A nation promised to never forget.

25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We still carry their legacy.

September 11, 2001. Never Forget. 🇺🇸

343. Brothers forever.

Yesterday evening, Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services was requested for mutual aid after multiple grass fires broke out along Susan Peak Road following lightning in the area.

Our crews responded out and joined Wall,Texas Volunteer Fire Department , Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department , and the Texas A&M Forest Service already working the fires. Everyone got to work, and through a solid combined effort, both fires were brought under control.

This is what mutual aid is all about. When another department needs help, you go. It doesn't matter what patch is on your sleeve or what department is on the side of the truck. At the end of the day, we're all there for the same reason.

Appreciate Wall VFD for calling us out and all the firefighters and agencies who put in the work.

Good work by everyone involved. Stay safe out there.
