Our Ag students at Grantham Middle School conducted a hands-on egg evaluation to investigate how egg quality can change over time. Students compared supermarket eggs with free-range eggs.

Students carefully observed and recorded differences in yolk color, albumen height, and albumen quality. They collected data and applied their previous knowledge about how feed can influence yolk color and how egg age can affect internal egg quality.

To finish the experience, students put their evaluated eggs to use by preparing cheesy egg waffles and chocolate waffles! πŸ§‡πŸ§€πŸ«

Ag students at Grantham Middle School watched their incubation project come full circle as their eggs hatched into chicks! Students cared for the hatchlings while learning about their needs, growth, and proper care.

Through hands-on poultry science stations, students explored chicken anatomy, learned how eggs develop inside a hen using a life-size model provided by 4-H, and practiced identifying poultry breeds.

From embryo development to hatching and chick care, students experienced the journey from egg to chick while building valuable animal science knowledge and skills! 🐣πŸ₯

Congratulations Eastern Wayne FFA! We are so proud of you! ⭐️⭐️

WE DID IT, WARRIORS! πŸŽ‰

Today, on the national stage in Indianapolis, Indiana, Eastern Wayne FFA was officially recognized as a 2026 NATIONAL 2-STAR CHAPTER at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo! πŸ†

And this is a BIG DEAL!

The National FFA Chapter Award Program recognizes outstanding chapters from across the country for their excellence in Growing Leaders, Building Communities, and Strengthening Agriculture. To earn this honor, chapters must first achieve Gold recognition at the state level and qualify for national evaluation.

This award represents SO much more than a plaque. It represents the countless hours our members have spent leading, learning, competing, serving others, and making a difference in our school and community.

From our classrooms and greenhouses to our livestock barn, community service projects, leadership activities, and beyond, our Warriors are proving that agricultural education is alive and thriving at Eastern Wayne High School! 🌟

To our FFA members, chapter officers, advisors, alumni, families, school administration, and community supporters: THIS IS YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT! Every opportunity, every project, and every act of service has helped build the chapter we are celebrating today.

We’re bringing home TWO STARS and a whole lot of WARRIOR PRIDE! ⭐⭐

EASTERN WAYNE FFA β€” NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED! πŸ’™πŸ’›

Ag students at Grantham Middle School got a firsthand look at chick embryo development through their classroom incubation project!

Students practiced candling fertile eggs to observe changes in the developing embryo and learn about the needs of a growing chick. To deepen their understanding, students also explored educational model eggs that show the different stages of embryo development day by day. This hands-on experience helped students connect what they see in the classroom with the science happening inside the egg.

What an exciting way to learn about embryology, animal science, and the miracle of life! 🐣πŸ₯š
