Community | Open House — The Wait Was Worth It

We did it. 🎉

After months of planning, painting, building, and waiting — the doors finally opened, and it was everything we hoped for.

Fresh paint on every wall. New desks lined up and ready. Shelves stocked full of books just waiting to be opened. And halls filled with something even better than new furniture: THE GIANT SMILES, curious Scholars, and a community that showed up ready to belong.
This moment — this exact one — is what all the hard work was for.

To every family who waited patiently for this day, and every staff member who poured everything into getting these spaces ready: thank you. You made this happen. We couldn't be more proud to welcome you home Wildcats. 🐾

Operations & Facilities | Opening Date Update — A Promise We're Keeping

Wayne STEM Families,

You picked WSA because you wanted something better for your scholar. That's exactly why we're writing today.

We're delaying our opening to Tuesday, September 8. Not because the building isn't ready - it is. We're finalizing the official documentation to be ready to open.

This affects all grade levels, K-6th, every scholar at Wayne STEM Academy.

We know this is disruptive. We know you made plans around Aug 25. We're sorry for that - and here's how we're making it right: we will not put your scholar in a building until every safety box is checked. That's the deal we made with you when you chose WSA. We're keeping it.

What this means for you:

No school Aug 25 – Sept 4, for all scholars K-6th
School starts Tuesday, Sept 8
We will adjust the full school calendar to account for these days at our next Board meeting
Look for a special video message from Dr. Forgette early next week
Plan to attend a Wildcat Chat Town Forum with Dr. Forgette and the Leadership Team — Thursday, August 27 at 6:00 PM (location to be finalized soon)

LandingZone | Community Story - It Takes a Wildcat Village

Landing Zone: CLEARED.

It started with Lowe's of Goldsboro saying yes. Then a couple Landing Zone Sponsors stepped up early. Then dozens of families gave $10, $20, whatever they could.

Four weeks later? $5,000 raised. 100% funded.

Our Scholars are getting a fenced play area, a gaga pit, and a real athletic field. A place to run. A place to just be kids.

That's not a fundraiser. That's a family showing up for its kids.

This is what belonging looks like.

We Owe You the Real Story on Our New Building

Picture it: your Scholar walking into a brand-new building for the first time. Backpack on. Eyes wide. Ready.

That moment matters. It's why we're writing to you ourselves, not letting this news travel through the grapevine.

Moving into a new home for our Scholars means juggling construction crews, internet and phone lines, furniture deliveries, and a dozen details that all have to land in the right order. Right now, we're not quite there. And we would rather ask for a little more of your patience than rush your Scholar into a space that isn't ready to receive them.

So here's what's changing, and what's staying the same:
