We are aware the Tornado siren is going off in the Georgetown area. There was some sort of a power outage in the area and it has caused the siren to activate. We are unsure why however we are working diligently to get it resolved.

Brown County Communications is hiring! We are seeking caring individuals to answer 911 calls, quickly enter information into CAD, give pre-arrival EMD instructions, deal with angry and upset callers, relay information via radio to first responders.

12 hour shifts
This is likely a night shift position (based on seniority)
Starting night shift pay $22.42 without experience, up to $24.57 with pertinent experience.
Top pay for night shift is currently $26.71. (Currently in contract negotiations)

REQUIRED to work every other 3 day weekend and work most holidays.

Brown County Communications sent out a targeted reverse 911 call last night sent to the Mt Orab area only during the 11pm hour regarding a missing child. The voice message failed to articulate properly. The missing child was located quickly so a clarifying call was not sent due to the time of night. This was not a scam. We apologize for any confusion/ inconvenience.

As an administrator at Brown Co Communications, I have time to make decisions. My dispatchers, and those who " sit in the chair" often fly by the seat of their pants. It's a flippant phrase for their reality, but it fits. I'm proud to have them " aboard" .
