🔥Wildfire Conditions for Sunday, August 16 - Tuesday, August 18, 2026 🔥
Hot, dry, and windy conditions are creating an increased wildfire risk across Texas. With temperatures exceeding 100°F, relative humidity dropping as low as 20-25%, and surface fuels becoming critically dry, even a small spark can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire.
As drought conditions continue to expand and dry fuels become more widespread, the potential for fires that are difficult to control is increasing. Firefighters are also facing longer and more resource-intensive suppression and mop-up efforts due to the persistent dry conditions.
✅ Stay aware of current weather and fire danger conditions.
✅ Be prepared with a defensible space around your home and an emergency plan for your family.
✅ Stay informed by monitoring local forecasts, burn bans, and wildfire alerts.
✅ Avoid activities that could spark a fire, including welding, outdoor burning, or mowing during the hottest and driest parts of the day.
