Today we recognized the promotion of SGT Santiago and said farewell to SGT Lengsi. Both Soldiers are from 2nd PLT “Honey Badgers” and have been cornerstones within Combat for a long time. We’re grateful for their hard work! SPC Koukides of HQ was recognized with The Phantom Warrior Education Service Award of the quarter for his academic excellence. We are very proud of our team!!

SSG Jones and his SQD from 1st PLT “Misfits” earned the top squad and the axe following SQD STX/LFX. The competition was fierce amongst all squads and the metrics informed from TE&Os offered little margin for error! PFC Puih completed a RXL for CBRN training that’s started this week. He is preparing the formation for real world CBRN threats and instructing how to properly use our equipment. We farewelled one of Combat’s finest last week, SGT Price. We will greatly miss his leadership and wish him the best in his next opportunity.

It’s been an eventful month so far! This week we completed a Squad Situational Training Exercise and Live Fire Exercise where our Soldiers proved their hard work through exceptional performances across the company. Just one week prior to that our mounted crews completed gunnery and their training on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle which ended with a detailed after action review. We are thankful for the lessons learned from both events and look forward to continuing to build our lethality for the future!

We continued our Bradley Fighting Vehicle modernization by completing position navigation and drivers training in day and night conditions. While crews stay focused on the M2A4s the rest of the formation has set conditions for our upcoming gunnery and squad life fire exercise. Leaders have used every opportunity to conduct convoy briefs, rehearsals, and refine SOPs to prepare the formation for success.

Combat has been focused on modernization through continued M2A4 training and countless repetitions of gunnery skills test tasks and time in the simulator. Dismounted leaders have also fielded the Squad Designated Marksman Rifle and completed in depth training. Property accountability, inventories, physical fitness, and installation support have occurred simultaneously. The company’s hard work and adherence to standards is yielding incredible pride in the unit and improved lethality!

We are nearly complete with our first week of new equipment training for the M2A4. Soldiers are motivated and committed as they embrace the opportunity to train to the standard and build proficiency. Our dismounted leadership has used this week to invest in their Soldiers as well, by refining various infantry tactics that will be crucial for upcoming training.
