Project 1,000 is more than a housing initiative — it’s a citywide commitment to creating new opportunities, revitalizing neighborhoods, and building a stronger Detroit for generations to come.

Led by Mayor Mary Sheffield, this initiative aims to bring 1,000 new homes to Detroit neighborhoods by 2031. Making this vision a reality will take collaboration across city departments and partners, including Zoning, BSEED, the Detroit Land Bank Authority (DLBA), and more.

From streamlining approvals and preparing vacant lots for development to addressing blight and supporting quality housing, every team has a role to play in turning this vision into reality.

One city. One shared vision. 1,000 new homes. Together, we’re working to create a Detroit where more residents have the opportunity to call a place home. 🏠

This in-person event is designed to help contractors navigate the DLBA’s procurement process, connect with our team, and learn about upcoming opportunities to bid on DLBA construction, rehabilitation, and renovation projects.
