It's a beautiful night for Decatur's annual Callithumpian Parade! 🎃👻

The countdown is on for one of Decatur’s favorite traditions, The Callithumpian Parade!
Decatur’s first Halloween parade was held in 1914, and in the early 1920s, it was renamed the Callithumpian Parade. More than 100 years later, generations of families still line the streets of downtown Decatur each October to keep the tradition going.
This year's parade is on Monday, October 26 at 6:57 p.m.

Now that we've introduced you to Riverside Center, our Parks & Recreation home base, let's talk about all the activities, events, and community gatherings that take place here throughout the year!

📅 Here's a look at what you can find happening at Riverside Center throughout the year:

🛍️ Flea Market – The first Sunday of every month, all year long!

🎨 Artisan Market – The second Saturday of the month, October through April, except January.

🀄 Mah Jong – Advanced players meet Thursdays from 12–4 PM.

🩸 American Red Cross Blood Drives – Hosted approximately every six weeks.

🍽️ Senior Luncheon – Held the first Tuesday of every month.

🛼 Skating & Dodgeball – During September through March, we host a special Saturday event once a month for some active fun!

💪 Step Aerobics with Steph – Looking for a way to get moving? Join Steph for step aerobics at Riverside Center!

🏴 Highland Games – A fun community tradition!

🎆 Fourth of July Fireworks – Celebrating Independence Day with our community!

🎭 Calithumpian Festivities – Including activities in October and fireworks as part of the celebration!

🎄 Christmas Activities – Bringing holiday fun and festive cheer to the community each December.
