A LOT of exciting events coming to American Legion Post 43 in Decatur! Come out on November 22 for a GREAT ALR Breakfast and stay for the Auxiliary Sip & Shop Craft Show with Mimosas/Bloody Mary's and an evening of wine tasting. Open to the public, so bring your friends.

Here is the schedule for Monday's Memorial Day Ceremony in Decatur:
🇺🇸 Laying of the wreath at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery @ 8:30 AM, followed by the laying of the wreath at Decatur Cemetery immediately after.
🇺🇸 Leave Post @ 10:15 AM to parade/march to Jackson St Bridge.
🇺🇸 Wreath in the river ceremony at Jackson St Bridge @ 10:30 AM and continue parade/march to Peace Monument at Courthouse.
🇺🇸 Memorial Day Ceremony at Peace Monument @ 11:00 AM.
🇺🇸 Lunch will be served at the Post after the ceremony.

This holiday is a day off that is traditionally spent with family & friends having cookouts, going to parties, or just relaxing. But, I STRONGLY encourage EVERYONE to take a couple of hours to REMEMBER the TRUE reason for this holiday. To honor the memories of those that made the ultimate sacrifice; who never came back to their families and friends; who never got to celebrate another holiday. Hope to see you Monday!
