Cosby Volunteer Fire Department

Cosby Volunteer Fire Department CVFD has proudly provided fire protection & rescue services to approximately 100 square miles of Cosby, TN since August 23, 1986.

On December 7, 1985, approximately 90 people were in attendance for a meeting that was held at Cosby High School to determine the need for a volunteer fire department. The Cosby Ruritan Club sponsored this meeting. Plans were made & fundraising began to help bring the new fire department to the area. On August 23, 1986, Cosby Volunteer Fire Department was officially established with 25 firefighter

s & 1 used 1955 Ford engine purchased from Sullivan County. Later, we added a 1958 Ford engine & also purchased old school buses from the county in which we turned into tankers. In the past 30 years, we have expanded to 4 stations: Station 1 next to Cosby School (our original station), Station 2 next to Cosby Post Office, Station 3 in the Edwina community and Station 4 near the National Guard Armory. We now have 2 mini pumpers, 3 tankers, & 4 engines. Our jaws of life & other rescue equipment is currently housed on our new 2008 Ford F550 mini pumper. Our ISO rating is currently a 6, & we are very proud of that! We currently have approximately 40 +/- firefighters, & cadet program that enlists, trains, & educates future firefighters currently under the age of 18.

1) Deadline to register for the beauty pageant is Sunday, May 31st! Please contact Angel Fowler listed on the flyer or feel free to message us with an email & we can send you the application!

2) Deadline to register & pay for a vendor spot is Saturday, May 30th! If you are interested in being a vendor, send us a message for more information!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We're just 2.5 weeks away from our Summer Festival!! Just a few reminders....

1) Saturday, May 30th is the deadline to register as a vendor for our Summer Festival! Anyone not registered AND paid by 11:59pm on Saturday will NOT be accepted as a vendor! If you are interested in being a vendor, please send us a message! Our food truck slots are full! Political/campaign booths are welcome as well!

2) Sunday, May 31st is the deadline to register for the beauty pageant that will take place during our Summer Festival! If you would like an application, please message us with an email address & we can send that to you! If you have any questions, please contact Angel Fowler at the phone # listed on the flyer!

3) Don't forget our car cruise-in that will take place during the festival! No registration required! No fees! No prizes! Just come & go as you please! We had a good turn out for the cruise-in last year... Let's make this year even better!
