I had the pleasure of attending Macedonia Baptist Church’s choir day that featured both Cocke County High School’s Fire Choir and Jefferson County High School choir. Let me tell you folks, these kids are talented! It was beautiful! I’ll post the other song in the comments!

Y’all I am at a loss of words and emotional tonight! Despite being 90°, Labor Day weekend and Tennessee’s first game HUNDREDS of you showed up and showed out this evening! It’s means so much and I will be forever grateful!
Y’all we ran out of places to sit and FOOD!

I just dont feel right doing that so 100% of my tips this evening will go to The Imagination Library in honor of Dolly per the families request. The Imagination Library has always been a major part of my life.. I received books from them and so did my daughter. Literacy in our youth is extremely important and its our responsibility to keep Dolly's legacy alive.

This Dolly Parton Tribute Singo is put together by you all so this playlist is for you! The past few posts I've been asking about your favorite songs to add and I'm writing down each one. I know some I wont be able to get because they do have to be available for purchase.. I buy all my music legally.. but I'm trying very hard to stay true to your requests.

If you would like to make any donations to help make this night possible either with building rental or buying the songs, I will drop my info below but this night is happening regardless. Dolly was a part of our family and I will do my best to make her proud.

I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS to all of our newly elected county officials! 🎉

I wish I could have been there to celebrate with you at your swearing-in ceremonies. Unfortunately, due to some unexpected staffing issues lately, I was working.

I wish each and every one of you tremendous success in your new roles. I hope our paths cross, and that one day I’ll have the opportunity to work alongside you for the people of our communities!

I honestly don’t even know what to say.

Dolly Parton was a national treasure, but to those of us from Appalachia, she was something even more than that. She was one of us and she was my blood.

She came from the mountains, from humble beginnings, and she never forgot where she came from. No matter how far her career took her, she carried East Tennessee, Appalachia, and the people who raised her with her.

Dolly showed the world that you could come from a little mountain town and still dream bigger than anyone could imagine. But more importantly, she showed us that success doesn’t have to mean leaving your people behind.

She gave back. She lifted people up. She put books in the hands of children, created jobs, supported families, and brought pride to a part of the country that is too often misunderstood or forgotten.

And for those of us who grew up here, there was something deeply comforting about knowing Dolly was out there representing our mountains with that big voice, big hair, big heart, and unmistakable Appalachian spirit.

My heart is absolutely broken.

The mountains feel a little quieter today.

Thank you, Dolly, for never forgetting where you came from and for reminding the rest of the world just how much beauty, strength, kindness, and talent can come out of these hills.

Rest easy, Dolly. You made us proud. ❤️🏔️
