🎨 From clay gargoyles to spooky spiderwebs, our Makers Monday artists have been busy creating! Kids sculpted their own gargoyles using quick-dry clay before exploring watercolor techniques to paint colorful spiderwebs with friendly spiders.

Ready for more hands-on fun? Join us on Monday, November 2, for Magnetic Marble Painting, where magnets and colorful paints come together to create unique works of art! 🕷️👻

Please join us at the Coronado Public Library on Thursday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. for an evening with author Adrián Ávila, who will present Mirar, an exploration of what it means to truly see the world around us. Ávila’s writing encourages us to slow down, look past the obvious, and notice the stories and feelings we often miss in daily life. During the talk, he will discuss how observation, reflection, and wonder can help us find new meaning in the familiar and better understand ourselves and the world. The program will be in both English and Spanish. This free event is open to everyone. Seating is first-come, first-served, subject to availability.

The 30th annual Harvest Hoedown brought the community together for a day of games, crafts, music, and family fun. Hosted by the Village Elementary PTO and Del Coronado Realty, the event is a longtime Coronado tradition that also raises funds for the school.

The Coronado Public Library and Recreation Services joined in the festivities with a prize wheel, children’s crafts, and information about upcoming programs. Thanks to everyone who helped organize the event and came out to enjoy the day!

Enjoy a moment of musical elegance with pianist Irina Bessonova! Last Friday, she performed a wonderful mix of classical, Romantic, and pop music at the Library. In this video, she brings Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers from the beloved ballet The Nutcracker (1892) to life on piano.

🎻 Coming up this Friday: Join us for a performance by violinist Pei-Chun Tsai, featuring classical and chamber music repertoire.

Cheesy horror films are often dismissed as eyeroll-worthy or, at best, campy nostalgia, but are rarely seen as critically brilliant or culturally significant art. Join us on Thursday, October 22 at 6 PM when Dr. Phillip Serrato of San Diego State University will argue otherwise, uncovering real substance in these films and inviting broader, richer ways to enjoy and appreciate them.
