Community Safety Update

We are aware of reports circulating regarding a potential threat affecting schools in San Diego County. At this time, there are no threats to Coronado schools.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Coronado Police Department will have an increased officer presence at all Coronado school campuses throughout the day. We are working closely with school district officials and will continue to monitor the situation. The Coronado Unified School District has communicated directly with parents and families regarding this matter.

The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our highest priority.

The Coronado Police Department is proud to support individuals with autism, dementia, anxiety, and other conditions that may require extra understanding during interactions with law enforcement.

The Blue Envelope helps communicate these needs clearly and respectfully. It can hold your ID, contact info, and vehicle documents making traffic stops or other encounters safer and less stressful.

✅Voluntary
✅ No registration required
✅ Free materials available at the PD!

Stop by the Police Department during business hours to pick up your Blue Envelope, wallet cards, seatbelt covers, stickers, and more. Let’s build a more inclusive and compassionate community — together.💙

MEMORIAL DAY.
We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Never forgotten.

05/22/2026

This weekend we would like to honor those men and women who died while serving our country. We are for the sacrifices they made for all of us.

Memorial Day also marks the unofficial start to summer. We are expecting large crowds in and around town the next few days. Here are a few reminders to help keep your weekend just as great as our weather:

• Before you head out, secure your home
• Headed to the beach or one of our beautiful parks? Always lock your car and remove all personal property
• Park bicycles where you can see them and lock them securely with a U-Lock
• NO alcohol or glass on the beach or parks
• Dogs need to stay at dog beach
• Going into the ocean? Don’t forget to do the stingray shuffle
• Share the road - watch for pedestrians and bicycles
• Bike safely - traffic laws will be enforced.

We hope you have a safe and wonderful weekend. Call us if you need us, (619)
522-7350.
