Information; Yesterday around 1pm a Tarkington ISD school bus was traveling WB on Hwy105 with students coming back from TVE and was hit by a passing Tanker Truck as it passed the bus. The crash did cause minor damage to the bus and the rear trailer wheel of the 18wheeler. The bus driver did stop all students were checked and ok however the truck driver didn’t realize his trailer hit the bus and continued on. Officers with Pct5 Constables Office and Texas DPS were notified and while patrolling the area located the truck and stopped the driver. All information was gathered for the crash and the truck driver was cited for his actions. We are very thankful that no Students or Teachers were injured in this incident. This is a great example of agencies working together to make sure our kiddos are safe. I want to say thanks to Trooper Richmond and my Deputies for their swift response to this incident.
