Y’all come by the fire station on Railroad Street and Claxton Police Department 715 W Main St. for a good time and even better treats. No tricks here. Bring those little gouls and goblins by and let us see how cute and scary they are. May even have a couple of guest appearances by some special folks. See y’all soon

On 10-28-2026 at 21:29, Claxton Fire Department was dispatched to an address on South River Street in reference to a clothes dryer on fire. At 21:31 command one arrived on scene and determined there was no fire or smoke inside the residence and canceled all units that were enroute. CFD units and CPD officer removed the dryer out of the residence. No injuries were reported and no damage was done to the residence.
Claxton Fire wants to thank the Claxton Police Department for their help!!

Claxton Fire Department would like to extend a thank you to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for recognizing all the local first responders! The fellowship, delicious meal, amazing door prize baskets, and the generous gift bags from Paul Thigpen Automotive Group made everyone feel incredibly special. We also want to thank the wonderful church youth who did an outstanding job serving everyone throughout the evening.

Our department apologizes that our full crew was unable to attend the event. We were busy assisting with a function inside the city limits—blocking off sections of roads, managing traffic, and sharing safety tips to keep our community safe. However, we truly appreciate the church looking out for our firefighters and sending plates back to the station for the members who worked the event.

Thank you, Antioch, for your hard work and for showing so much love to our first responder community!

Today, we recognize our own firefighters and all the dedicated men and women who answer the call when our communities need them most.

We are out at Antioch Baptist Church helping out with their annual Hallelujah Night and Trunk or Treat. We appreciate the invitation and letting us spread the word of fire safety while receiving some good words and messages as well. FIRE PREVENTION SAVES LIVES

Last night marked the 19th Annual Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce's First Responder Appreciation Dinner, and once again, our businesses and several individuals showed up for its first responders!

A big THANK YOU to the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce and everyone who helped/contributed to making this evening possible. There are so many people that work countless hours to give back, however, we can to give a special thank you to Mr. Bruce Purcell. The great food, generous donations, and fellowship made for an enjoyable night!

Today, Phillips Insurance Group held a community education session on Medicare and safety. Fire Marshal Jason Blalock was asked to attend and spread the word about fire safety for the upcoming winter months. We appreciate the opportunity and are always ready and waiting to spread the word about fire safety for everyone.
