This Veterans Day, we're welcoming the American Red Cross to the Ranlo Lodge for a community blood drive. Whether you're a regular donor or considering giving for the first time, we'd love to see our neighbors come together for a good cause!

Speed limit changes coming to three Ranlo neighborhoods!

The speed limit will be reduced to 15 MPH throughout Mountain View, Woodside, and Spencer Heights following approval by the Town of Ranlo Board of Commissioners.

🚧 What to expect: Public Works crews have begun marking locations for new speed limit signs with white paint. At the direction of the Board of Commissioners, signs will be placed every 300 feet to ensure compliance with duly posted signage and ordinance. Residents may notice these markings in yards and along roadways as crews prepare for installation.

⚠️ Important exception: Mitchem Road, from Spencer Mountain Road to Sapphire Drive, will remain 35 MPH because it is owned and maintained by NCDOT.

Thank you to our neighborhood HOAs, residents, Police Department, Public Works crews, and Board of Commissioners for working together to improve traffic safety.

Please stay alert and follow posted speed limits.

We're proud to announce that Town of Ranlo Commissioner Schivette Hill has received a 2026 Region of Excellence Award from Centralina Regional Council for Local Government Innovation!

Centralina's Region of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding leadership, innovation, and service across the nine-county greater Charlotte region, with more than 30 nominations submitted for this year's awards. Having Ranlo represented among this year's honorees is a proud moment for our town!

Recognizing that small towns often have to do more with less, Commissioner Hill established four volunteer-led committees that are expanding opportunities for residents to get involved and strengthening services right here in Ranlo:

🎉 Ranlo Experience Committee: Bringing neighbors together through Town events and celebrations.

🤝 Ranlo Resource Network: Connecting residents with social services and resources.

🚔 Ranlo Public Safety Partnership: Supporting our Police Department through partnerships and grant opportunities.

🏡 Planning Board: Restoring an important part of local planning after more than five years.

Her vision made this happen, and leadership made this possible.

Special Meeting of the Board - October 22, 2026

Ranlo’s “Play It Safe: Fall Adventure” event at the Ranlo Lodge was a day centered on helping the local youth feel more confident and prepared to stay safe in various situations.

The day began with some important fire safety lessons from the Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services. Kids learned how to recognize different smoke alarm sounds, plan escape routes, and choose a safe meeting spot for their families.

Then, TECH at Lowell Branch Library brought the creativity with a reading of I Want to Be in a Scary Story, followed by a monster-making activity where each roll of the dice helped create a new character!

With The Lighthouse-Gaston County CAC, kids explored online safety, identified their trusted adults through a pinwheel activity, and learned more about understanding their emotions through a reading of In My Heart.

And for the grand finale? The Ranlo Fire Department stopped by! Kids climbed into the fire truck, tested the weight of equipment with Chief Todd Lewis, and saw what a firefighter looks like in full gear. Mayor Corey Creech even joined in for a fire-hose demonstration!

A special thank you to our Ranlo Resource Network Committee, Town Commissioner Schivette Hill, Mayor Corey Creech, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Gaston, Ranlo Fire & Rescue, all of our incredible guests, and everyone who helped make the day possible.

From learning what to do in an emergency to knowing who to turn to for help, we hope these are lessons our young residents will carry with them long after the day is over! 💙

Progress Update: Gardin Park's basketball court is one step closer to reopening!

The new basketball hoop structures are officially installed, and our Town of Ranlo Public Works team is wrapping up the remaining improvements to the court and surrounding area.

We're almost there, Ranlo! Thank you for your continued patience as we put the finishing touches on the area. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the court soon. 🏀

Join us this Friday, October 16, at the Ranlo Lodge for Play It Safe: Fall Adventure, where we're turning a day off from school into an opportunity to learn, play, and explore!

From hands-on fire safety activities and library fun to learning how to stay safe in the digital world, there's plenty planned to keep young minds busy. Plus, we'll have time for lunch and a little fall fun along the way!

Faith & Blue continues through Monday, Ranlo! 💙

We’ve spent the past few days finding new ways to come together, and we still have two opportunities to join us before Faith & Blue comes to a close.

Today at 3 PM, join us at the Gastonia Rotary Pavilion for gospel singing, a prayer walk, food, and time together.

Then, start your Monday with Coffee with a Cop and Faith Leaders at 9 AM at Garden Park. Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and spend some time getting to know the people who serve our community.

Whether through faith, a shared meal, or simply a good conversation, Faith & Blue is about creating more opportunities to connect.

We hope you’ll join us for one (or both) of our final gatherings!
