Last week our 7th graders attended the Hidden Heroes of Healthcare field trip at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. The day prior to the field trip, our 7th graders engaged in a classroom lesson exploring the wide range of healthcare careers that keep our medical systems running. Students learned about roles beyond doctors and nurses, including:
Paramedics
Respiratory Therapists
Occupational Therapists
Physical Therapists
Medical Lab Technicians
Radiographers
Surgical Technologists
Sterile Processing Technologists
Nurses
Sponsored by the Montgomery County Educational Service Center (MCESC) in partnership with Dayton Children’s Hospital, Kettering Health, and Premier Health, this event introduced students to the exciting career opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Through hands-on simulations, interactive stations, and real-world scenarios, students experienced firsthand how these "hidden" departments collaborate in fast-paced environments to deliver life-saving care.
Event organizers and presenters commended Brookville students for their exemplary behavior, deep engagement, and impressive background knowledge during all activities!
