🌿 The Wattle, Daub, & Decay Initiative! 🐝🪵

Our 8th graders are taking learning outdoors with a hands-on STEAM experience!

• 🐝 Participated in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census

• 🔎 Observed and documented pollinators in our school garden

• 🪵 Explored wattle-and-daub construction used by early Indigenous communities

• 🌿 Harvested and repurposed natural materials from our summer garden

• 🧱 Applied engineering through weaving, building, and daub construction

• 🌱 Prepared garden materials for a future hugelkultur growing system

• 📓 Connected history, science, engineering, math, and environmental stewardship

The Brooks City Council recently recognized the Brooks 10U All Stars for an incredible accomplishment, winning the Training Legends State Championship!

We’re especially proud that one of our very own 5th Grade Mavericks, Wilder Thorngren, is part of this team as their catcher!
