As you gather with family and friends for cookouts, parades, and fireworks, we encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly and keep safety in mind throughout the holiday weekend.

Fireworks are a holiday tradition, but they can cause serious injuries in an instant. According to the NFPA, hands and fingers account for 28% of fireworks injuries, followed by legs (24%) and eyes (19%). More than 44% of injuries are burns.

Before lighting fireworks this weekend:
✅ Keep a safe distance from spectators
✅ Never allow children to handle fireworks
✅ Wear safety glasses when lighting fireworks
✅ Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby
✅ Never relight a malfunctioning firework
✅ Consider attending a professional fireworks display instead

Let's make this Independence Day weekend memorable for the right reasons. Stay safe, protect your family, and enjoy the celebration responsibly!
