Spotlight on Josiah Jordan! 💚💙🔦 Jordan is an eighth grader at UVA who recently made Louisiana gymnastics history.

Jordan was invited to the U.S. National Team Camp at the Olympic Training Center as one of the top gymnasts in the nation in his age group. This experience gave Jordan the opportunity to train alongside some of the nation’s best gymnasts, with a coaching staff that included former Olympians and National Team coaches. Jordan also made history as the first gymnast from Louisiana to be invited.

“My outlook on life is to do what I think would make me the best version of myself,” Jordan said. “Whatever you believe, you can achieve."

It’s Digital Citizenship Week. Letter “I” in University View Academy’s district-wide student behavior expectations, PLUG IN!, stands for acting with integrity. Integrity matters online and offline.

Be honest about your work, contributions, and sources. Respect others. And remember, your digital footprint matters.

Congratulations to Sarah Hunt for her selection as the 2026-27 University View Academy Support Person of the Year! This award recognizes outstanding non-instructional staff in schools.

A few fun facts about Ms. Hunt:
🌟She is in her fourth year at UVA
🌟 The mantra she lives by is Micah 6:8 — ‘He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?'
🌟Her role as the Administrative Professional for School Leaders means she is the first face teachers see at the UVA Academic Center. Along with taking care of the front desk, she handles logistics for the Academics department and volunteers with the staff Culture Committee that promotes connection, employee morale, and celebrates UVA's positive culture. She is also the co-sponsor for the elementary and middle school spelling bee clubs.

"The thing I enjoy the most is doing my best to make teachers, staff, and visitors feel welcome," Ms. Hunt said. "Being an educator can be stressful, and I want people to feel like they can drop their shoulders when they walk in the door."
