Last week, students from Edison High School’s EMT program visited the Balcones Heights Fire Department for real-world training and exposure to EMS and Fire equipment. Thank you to Acadian Ambulance Service for generously giving their time and providing an ambulance. These seniors are currently completing their EMT certification and will be eligible to test for the National Registry by the end of the school year, meaning many of them can graduate high school already licensed and ready to work in emergency medical services!

We’re proud to support these future EMTs and firefighters as they prepare to serve our community. Keep up the great work, Edison High School students! 👏🔥🚑

Before the coffee even kicks in, our crews are out checking every truck, tool, and piece of equipment to make sure everything’s ready to roll.
It’s all part of keeping our community safe and ready for whatever the day brings! 👨‍🚒🔥

We want to give a big shout-out to our friends at Hollywood Park Fire Department for donating gear lockers to our station! 🙌
Your generosity helps us keep our gear ready and our crew even more prepared to serve. Brand new, similar lockers cost close to 6,000. With some elbow grease got them looking brand new. Thanks for the support🔥🚒

Our crew stopped by Maverick Elementary to talk about fire prevention, show off the engine, and remind everyone to “Stop, Drop, and Roll!” Thanks to all the students and teachers for making it such a fun day! ❤️

Not all rescues involve flames and smoke!
Our firefighters responded today to help a frightened kitten who’d gotten stuck in the engine compartment of a vehicle.
We’re happy to report the little one is safe and sound. 🐱💪

As we approach the new year, a gentle reminder that fireworks of any kind are not allowed in Balcones Heights City Limits. Balcones Heights Police Department and Balcones Heights Fire Department personnel will provide extra patrols Tuesday, December 31, 2024 and Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
