Seneca East Local School District is located in Attica, a village in Seneca County, Ohio. Our current student population is approximately 887 students and our student to teacher ratio is 1 to 15.75, well below the state average of 1 to 18. This allows our district to give each student the individualized attention needed to address the needs of the whole child. Over the years, Seneca East has taken

pride in delivering a solid, first-class education. By laying a solid foundation, Seneca East continues to build on the student experiences in the face of challenges as they arise. The district has state of the art facilities and technology, and the curriculum provided in the schools grows more rigorous with each passing year. Seneca East strives to be an academic leader that produces well-rounded, educated students – the leaders of tomorrow. Seneca East Local Schools is housed on one campus, in one school building, built 12 years ago. This building was designed to meet the needs of all Seneca East students. Students in Seneca East Local Schools are afforded many opportunities. We encourage students to perform at the height of his or her ability through developing critical thinking skills, social accountability, creativity, the ability to communicate effectively and a solid work ethic. AP courses are offered to Seneca East High School students and nearly one quarter of the student population takes at least one AP course. Our district was listed as one of the best ranked schools in the nation by U.S. Seneca East is rooted in tradition. Many students come from multiple generations of Seneca East alumni and we strive to be the first-choice school for every family.

🎉 Congratulations to Seneca East High School science teacher Brooke Griffin, who has been named the 2026 Ohio Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year by the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT)!

This Outstanding Biology Teacher Award recognizes excellence in biology and life science education, innovation in the classroom, a commitment to advancing scientific literacy and is among the most prestigious awards presented by the NABT. Mrs. Griffin was selected as Ohio’s Outstanding Biology Teacher from a pool of candidates across the state following a competitive review conducted by biology educators and professionals from throughout the United States.

Through hands-on investigations, inquiry-based learning, real-world applications, and community outreach opportunities, Mrs. Griffin inspires students to think like scientists and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. In addition to teaching Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, CCP/AP Biology, CCP Marine Science, and Forensic Science, she serves as advisor to Seneca East’s NABT BioClub, where students engage in science outreach and leadership opportunities throughout the community.

Mrs. Griffin has helped expand science opportunities for students through the development of new courses, college-credit opportunities, community partnerships, and annual field experiences focused on environmental science and conservation.

Mrs. Griffin will be formally recognized at Seneca East this fall and will represent Ohio at the National Association of Biology Teachers Professional Development Conference in Dallas, Texas, this October, where she will receive her official award alongside Outstanding Biology Teacher Award recipients from across the country.

One Tiger family, building the future together! 🏀🏐

The Seneca East Lady Tigers and our Future Lady Tigers came together for an exciting few days of Volleyball and Basketball Camp, learning, growing, and having fun along the way! 🧡🖤

Campers worked on the fundamentals of both sports, participated in skill-building drills, and competed in a variety of fun challenges and competitions. More importantly, they learned the value of teamwork, effort, and a positive attitude while being encouraged by current Lady Tiger athletes and coaches. 💪

The future is bright, and it starts with moments like these! 🌟

Thank you to everyone who helped make these camps a success. We loved seeing so many Tigers learning, laughing, and building their skills together! 🏐🏀🧡

Exploring the future of medicine! 🩺

Congratulations to Lorelei Clapp, who recently participated in CampMed 2026 at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences after being nominated by teacher Ellen Lynch. 👏🧡

During this two-day experience, Lorelei joined students from across Ohio to explore careers in medicine through hands-on activities and learning opportunities designed to introduce students to the healthcare field.

Adding to this exciting achievement, Lorelei was featured in a WTOL 11 news interview! 🎥✨

We are proud of Lorelei for representing Seneca East so well and wish her continued success as she pursues her goals in the medical field. The future is bright!
