John has been a dedicated and dependable firefighter since day one, always willing to step up for his crew and community. We’re excited to welcome him into the officer corps and look forward to his continued leadership at Andover Fire.

Our Andover Fire family is asking for your thoughts, prayers, and support for one of our own.

Neil, a firefighter with Andover Fire since 2020, and his 16-year-old daughter, Penelope, were involved in a tragic oil fire accident on Sunday, May 24th. Both suffered severe burns and have been receiving treatment in the HCMC Burn Unit ever since.
Neil sustained burns to his hands and wrists, while Penelope suffered burns over 22% of her body, primarily on her legs. Although both are expected to recover, they are facing a long and difficult journey ahead that will include multiple surgeries, extensive medical care, and months of recovery.

Anyone who knows Neil knows his dedication to serving others and helping people on their worst days. Now, he and Penelope need our support.

Please keep Neil and Penelope in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. If you are able to contribute, any support through this GoFundMe will help ease the burden on their family as they focus on healing and recovery.

Today, members of Andover Fire were honored to take part in our community’s Memorial Day festivities taking place at Bunker Hills Activity Center. Ladder 1 proudly displayed the American flag as we joined veterans, families, and citizens in remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

After the ceremony, our crew was assisted by members of the Boy Scouts in carefully folding the flag for safe keeping until the next event. It was a great reminder of the respect, tradition, and community spirit that Memorial Day represents.

Sometimes on calls, our firefighters meet kids having one of the worst days of their lives — scared, hurt, and overwhelmed. One small thing that can make a big difference? A brand new stuffed animal!

The Andover Fire Relief Association would like to give a huge THANK YOU to PAR Systems for generously donating hundreds of stuffed animals for our crews to give to children in need of a little comfort. Your kindness will make a lasting impact in our community!

At tonight’s City Council meeting, the newest members of the Andover Fire Department were officially sworn in by Andover Mayor Jamie Barthel.

These firefighters have already completed hundreds of hours of training in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, HazMat, and EMT to reach this milestone — the true beginning of their careers as Andover firefighters.

Please help us congratulate Firefighters Cody Johanson, BJ Seestrom, Eric Hime, Ben Walz, Sam Grobel, and Jeff Lundholm on the incredible work and dedication they’ve shown so far.

We are proud to welcome you to the department and can’t wait to see all the great things you’ll do for this community. Congratulations, firefighters!

Last week we sent a crew over to Rum River Elementary to help with their Rum River Against Hunger food packing event.

Our crew had a blast spending time with the students and staff while helping support a great cause. The Rum River Wolves absolutely crushed it by packing an incredible 46,440 meals during the event!

Way to go Wolves!

Day and night, their crews respond alongside us to provide compassionate care, professionalism, and lifesaving service to our community. Whether it’s on the scene of an emergency, during critical patient care, or supporting one another behind the scenes, we are grateful for the teamwork and dedication they bring every single day.

Thank you to all the EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, nurses, and support staff for the work you do and the sacrifices you make to keep our communities safe and healthy. We are proud to stand beside you.
