Our monthly meeting is today at 2pm, come out and join today..

❗️❗️The Altamont Volunteer Fire Department will hold its monthly meeting on (Today) Sunday, May 31st at 2pm. Individuals interested in joining the department are invited to attend and submit an application. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. As a volunteer firefighter, one will not only respond to fire emergencies but also participate in a wide range of activities including animal rescue, traffic control, vehicle accidents, public service, medical emergencies, and other incidents. The department has various roles that require diverse skills and expertise. The Altamont Volunteer Fire Department is expanding and invites you to join our team. Members receive complimentary trainings and annual compensation for participating in calls, meetings, and training sessions while gaining strong relationships with like-minded individuals dedicated to community service. Come out and See us.

The SCCF Grant Committee selected Altamont Fire Department for an award. Altamont Volunteer Fire Department was granted $10,000 for acquiring advanced rope rescue equipment, specifically a Harken Rope Winch, Ronin Asender, and Arizona Vortex. With comprehensive training to come, Altamont Fire Department will have enhanced capabilities to respond to emergencies wherever needed..

On May 28, TFACA delivered a 4hr Rope Awareness training session at the Altamont Fire Department. The class included participants from several departments and represents the first phase of an many rope trainings to come. The Altamont Fire Department's rope rescue capabilities are being augmented.

Yesterday Altamont FD conducted a live burn training. Before the control burn of this old home firemen where able to get some training in. They trained on roof ventilation while also conducting ladder training. Interior firefighters where able to experience and witness the growth phase, roll over effect and smoke layering. Also firemen worked on familiarization of the new thermal imaging camera that we just recieved from the State Fire Marshals Grant. Thank you to the land owner for this awesome experience for our fire department.
