From the courts of 𝗨𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻, to the biggest volleyball stage in Asia—𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮 is now representing the Philippines at the 2026 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 in Japan. The Pangasinense volleyball star is part of the current 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 competing in the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Garcia is listed among the team's outside hitters alongside national volleyball stars Bryan Bagunas, Marck Espejo and Michaelo Buddin.
Jude Garcia is one of the volleyball players from Pangasinan who has successfully made the journey from grassroots volleyball to the national and international stage. Born on November 7, 1998, Garcia hails from Umingan, Pangasinan, where his volleyball journey began. Before becoming a familiar name in Philippine volleyball, he first developed his skills in his hometown and represented Umingan in youth competitions. His story is a testament to how talent and determination from a provincial community can eventually reach the country's biggest volleyball stages.
Garcia attended 𝗨𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, where he continued developing his skills as a young volleyball player. One of the notable achievements of his early career came in 2014, when Umingan Central National High School was part of the Pangasinan delegation that won the volleyball championship at the 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙮 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨 in Bacolod City. Garcia was among the players who represented Umingan during the competition, giving an early glimpse of the potential that would eventually take him beyond Pangasinan.
His talent eventually brought him to 𝗙𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗙𝗘𝗨) in Manila, where he became part of the FEU Tamaraws men's volleyball program. Playing in the UAAP gave Garcia an opportunity to compete against some of the country's best collegiate volleyball players. He also made his mark in beach volleyball, earning the 𝙐𝘼𝘼𝙋 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙮𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 award during Season 78. His years with FEU became an important part of his development and helped prepare him for a career in the professional ranks.
Garcia continued to make an impact in UAAP men's volleyball, helping FEU compete against the country's top collegiate programs. During UAAP Season 81, FEU reached the championship round, while Garcia was recognized as the 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙃𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 of the season. His versatility also allowed him to compete in both indoor and beach volleyball, giving him experience in two different forms of the sport. His collegiate career established him as one of the players to watch as he transitioned into the professional scene.
After college, Garcia continued his career in Philippine club volleyball. Among the teams he played for was 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼. 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, where he competed in the Spikers' Turf. He later joined the 𝗖𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, one of the country's established men's volleyball clubs, and became part of the team that won the 2019 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙧'𝙨 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙛 𝙍𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.
Garcia's career has not been limited to domestic volleyball. He has represented the Philippines in international beach volleyball, including participation in the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀. His international beach volleyball record includes 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙯𝙚-𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙨 in the 2019, 2021 and 2023 SEA Games campaigns, with different partners during those competitions. In 2019, he partnered with Anthony Lemuel Arbasto Jr. in the SEA Games. In 2023, Garcia competed with James Buytrago. He has also continued appearing in international beach volleyball competitions. Volleyball World records, also list Garcia and Jaron Requinton as the Philippine pair in the 2025 𝗡𝘂𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. He also became involved with the Creamline organization in beach volleyball and was among the players considered for the Philippine national beach volleyball program.
Garcia's career reached another important chapter when he became part of the 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 in the Spikers' Turf. The team quickly became one of the notable clubs in Philippine men's volleyball, with Garcia emerging as one of its key offensive players. His performance in the 2024 Spikers' Turf Open Conference earned him the 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 award. He continued to produce strong performances for Criss Cross in succeeding competitions, establishing himself as one of the prominent outside hitters in the league.
His success continued into the 2025 Spikers' Turf season. Garcia helped Criss Cross win the 2025 Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference, where he was again recognized as the 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙈𝙑𝙋 and 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙧. His performances have made him one of the players frequently relied upon by Criss Cross in important matches. In 2026, he remained a major part of the team's campaign and continued receiving individual recognition for his performances, including being named a 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨' 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙛 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙨 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠.
In June 2026, Garcia returned to Pangasinan and was among the homegrown volleyball athletes honored by the provincial government during the opening of the Governor Ramon V. Guico III Inter-Town Volleyball Tournament. For Garcia, the recognition carried a special meaning because Umingan was where his volleyball journey began. From a young athlete playing for his hometown school to an FEU Tamaraw, professional volleyball player, Spikers' Turf MVP and Philippine international, his journey represents the growth of a Pangasinense athlete who continued to pursue the sport at every level.
