🍽️ FOOD SAFETY AWARENESS WEEK 🧼

Safe food means healthy families and healthier communities! 💚

Every 4th week of October, we observe Food Safety Awareness Week, reminding everyone that food safety starts with the way we handle, prepare, cook, and store our food.

The Tabaco City Nutrition Committee is here to remind every Tabaqueño that keeping food safe is an important part of keeping our families healthy. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Let’s remember the 5 key food safety practices:
🧼 Clean hands, surfaces, tools, and utensils
💧 Wash fresh produce under running water
🥩 Separate raw food from ready-to-eat food
🍲 Cook food to the proper temperature
🚫 Prevent cross-contamination

Because healthy eating is not only about what we eat—it’s also about keeping our food safe! 💚

Let’s work together to make every meal safe, clean, and healthy for every Tabaqueño. 🌱

Safe Food • Healthy People • Stronger Communities

LOOK | HAKAB NA! Breastfeeding Congress 💗🤱

Healthy mothers, healthy babies, and healthy families begin with proper nutrition, support, and knowledge. 🌱

Breastfeeding and lactating mothers from the different barangays of Tabaco City came together for the Promotion of Breastfeeding and Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos, conducted across four catchment areas on September 21, 25, 28, and 29, 2026.

Facilitated by the City Nutrition Office, headed by CNAO Efleda B. Boboyo, RND, the activity provided mothers with meaningful learning and support through:

🌸 Educational discussions on Maternal Nutrition and the First 1000 Days
🥗 Practical guidance on the 10 Kumainments and Pinggang Pinoy for pregnant and lactating women
🌿 Distribution of Moringa capsules as additional health and nutrition support

More than just a learning activity, the gathering served as an opportunity to empower mothers with knowledge they can bring home and put into practice—helping build healthier families and a healthier community.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our dedicated resource speakers — Ms. Charissa P. Ricafort, RND, ND II – Provincial DOH Office-Albay; Ms. Merry Chris Buatis, RND, ND II – APHO; and Ms. Mytte Rose Eusebio, RND, ND II – APHO — for generously sharing their expertise and inspiring our mothers through meaningful discussions and guidance. 💗

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the City Nutrition Committee (CNC), headed by Chairman Hon. Reynaldo Bragais and Co-Chair Hon. Preciocisima Tanggo, for their continued commitment and unwavering support in promoting the health and well-being of Tabaco City's mothers and children.

Together, let us continue to support, educate, and empower mothers—because every mother deserves the right knowledge and every child deserves a healthy beginning. 🤱💚

Para sa ina. Para sa anak. Para sa mas malusog na pamilya. Para sa isang mas malusog na Tabaco City!

💊 September is Generics Awareness Month! 💙💚

This month, we raise awareness about the importance of generic medicines as affordable, effective, and quality treatment options for every Filipino. Generic medicines can help make essential healthcare more accessible while supporting responsible and informed medication use.

Let us also remember that certain foods can interact with medicines, which may affect how they work in the body. Always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s advice and take medicines as directed.

Together, let’s promote safe, informed, and affordable healthcare for our families and community. 🌿💊

Choose wisely. Stay informed. Stay healthy!
