if the state is bent on prosecuting and persecuting the religious minority, it can severely backlash on the state and its international image. Plus such harassment can heavily affect bilateral relations with countries that have been supporting Nepal in many ways. Hence, wise, caring approach is needed while addressing such issues without causing internal injustice and external alienation.

The arrests of 24 South Koreans on October 9 who arrived here in Nepal on October 6 to fellowship and attend the graduation ceremony at Nepal New Covenant College (NNCC) is totally unwanted! Such a mindless arrest is a blatant violation of Human Rights and Religious Freedom, let alone a faux pas in diplomacy! These arrests risk portraying Nepal as intolerant toward religious minorities at a time when the country seeks to promote tourism, investment, and its image as a peaceful, diverse Himalayan nation.
