This , we’re celebrating the special connection between nature and heritage at Cogglesford Watermill.

Set beside the River Slea, the mill is shaped by the natural world – from the steady flow of the water to the wildlife that lives along the riverbanks.

Inside, flour is still produced using locally grown grain, supporting local farmers and keeping traditional skills alive.

Why not visit us and enjoy this peaceful riverside setting, where history and nature come together?

As continues, we’d like to say a special thank you to Trevor, who works so hard to keep the outside of the mill looking beautiful. 🌸

From planting and tending to the flowers to making sure everything looks its best for visitors, Trevor’s care and dedication make a real difference to the feel of the site. When he’s on holiday, the rest of the team step in to keep things watered – but it’s safe to say we miss his green fingers...

As if that wasn’t enough, Trevor also treats us to his stunning early morning and evening photos of the mill and river, capturing Cogglesford at its very best. 📸

If you enjoy the displays as much as we do and fancy lending Trevor a hand, he’s always grateful for a bit of extra help – just pop in and speak to us or send us a message.

It's , and we'd like to get the ball rolling (or wheel turning?) by saying a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers.

From milling and maintenance to gardening, welcoming visitors, helping in the shop and leading guided tours, they keep Cogglesford Watermill running day after day. Their enthusiasm, knowledge and hard work make all the difference, and we're incredibly grateful for everything they do.

We'll be sharing more about our wonderful volunteers throughout the week, so keep an eye on our page to find out what makes them such an important part of the mill.

And if you've ever fancied getting involved, we'd love to hear from you. We're particularly keen to welcome new volunteer guides to help bring the story of the mill to life for our visitors.

For now, a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers – you're the driving force behind the mill!

We’re starting to reuse clean plastic shopping bags in the mill gift shop for carrying flour and other goodies home — a small way we can cut down on waste together.

Lots of you already bring your own bags when you visit us, which is wonderful — thank you! It really does make a difference, and we always love to see it.

And for those times you forget, reusing a bag feels a little kinder than reaching for a brand-new one. ♻️🌾

Here’s a little look at how we turn grain into flour 🌾

We buy our grain from Maud Foster Mill in Boston, mill it here at the watermill, then bag it up ready to use. No additives or anything extra added along the way — just ground into flour the traditional way.
