🎄 Keyworth Festivities Day – Saturday 5 December, 12pm–4pm

Keyworth Parish Council invites residents to come together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season at Keyworth Festivities Day.

There will be something for all the family to enjoy, with each venue offering its own festive activities and experiences.

🎅 Visit Father Christmas at Keyworth Scout Hut, meet award-winning close-up magician Roy Bond, say hello to our festive stilt walker and receive a balloon model.

🎨 Children can enjoy festive crafts, while carol singers and Joyful Jukebox will help fill the village with Christmas music.

✨ Step inside the historic 17th-century George Martyn’s Barn to experience Christmas Sensations through scent, sight and sound. With more than 40 festive stalls from local craft makers, there will also be plenty of opportunities to find unique gifts and seasonal treats.

We look forward to welcoming families and friends to enjoy the activities, explore the different venues and share in the festive spirit as Keyworth comes together to celebrate the beginning of Christmas.

🌿Looking back on the Keyworth Green Festival 🌿

Looking back on the Keyworth Green Festival, I was very pleased with our first attempt at the format, a real credit to the Parish Council Events Team.
There was a great selection of stalls and activities, with the live music, circus performers and bar all being well received. The Abundance Project and BGS also engaged with almost 200 young people, the very generation we need to be thinking about when it comes to their future and our climate.

Away from the bustle of the festival, we also held two screenings of the People’s Emergency Briefing. We had 61 people attend on the day, taking the total audience for screening to over 100. It was great to see so many people taking the time to watch the film and join in the discussions.

A massive thank you must go to all
volunteers and helpers, from the planning stages right through to making everything happen on the day. We are very fortunate that the Keyworth Show organisers were willing to share their equipment, which made life so much easier. The table, chairs, gazebos, signage and display tables really helped give the event a professional feel.
A big thank you to the Keyworth Pariah Council staff for all their work behind the scenes.

Now it’s over to you! Please let us know what you enjoyed and how we can improve the event for next year. We would also love to hear your ideas about what we can do in Rushcliffe area to support our communities with climate and sustainability 🌳

It is with great sadness that Keyworth Parish Council announces the passing of Councillor Kevin Fiztgerald, who sadly passed away on Tuesday 1st September 2026. Councillor Kevin Fitzgerald was a valued and dedicated member of the Parish Council and gave generously of their time to serve the local community. Their commitment, kindness and contribution to the parish will be greatly missed by fellow councillors, colleagues and residents. The Parish Council extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to Councillor Kevin Fitzgerald’s family, friends and loved ones at this very difficult time.

We have just received the following notification from our friends at Trent Barton regarding temporary changes to the bus service over the next few days:

Melton Road (A606) will be closed between Wheatcroft Island and Cotgrave Lane on the following dates. During these times, the keyworth will be diverting via Bradmore Lane, A60 through Ruddington and Flawforth Lane in both directions.

Saturday 5 September – 5:30am to 1:00pm
Sunday 6 September – 7:00pm to 06:00am
Monday 7 September – 7:00pm to 06:00am

During this time there will be no buses through Tollerton.

We expect the diversion route to be very busy on Saturday due to Forest playing at home at 3:00pm.
