🌟 Staff Recognition 🌟

At Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd, we are incredibly proud of two of our dedicated team members, Kiera and Laura B, who recently went above and beyond to ensure the safety and wellbeing of one of our clients.

When our client needed urgent hospital care, Kiera and Laura supported them every step of the way. They transported the client to hospital, remained by their side throughout the visit, ensured they were comfortable and reassured, and then safely brought them home afterwards. Their support didn't stop there – they made sure the client had something to eat, was settled safely at home, and continued providing care and reassurance well into the night, staying with them until after midnight.

This is a shining example of the compassion, dedication, and commitment that our team shows every day. Caring is about so much more than completing a task – it's about being there when people need you most and ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported.

Thank you, Kiera and Laura B, for embodying the values of Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd and for making such a positive difference to someone's life. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our team. 💙

🌟 Staff Recognition – Congratulations Laura B! 🌟

A huge congratulations to Laura B for her outstanding achievement in supporting one of our clients to reach an important personal goal.

When Laura visited, the room was so cluttered that there was no safe or comfortable place for our client to sit and relax. Through patience, encouragement, and working alongside the client, Laura helped them clear and organise the space, creating a welcoming area where they can now sit comfortably and enjoy their surroundings.

At Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd, we believe that support is about much more than completing tasks for people. It’s about empowering individuals to achieve their own goals, build confidence, maintain independence, and improve their quality of life. Every achievement, no matter how big or small it may seem, can have a significant impact on a person's wellbeing and sense of pride.

Laura’s dedication, encouragement, and person-centred approach have made a real difference, and we are incredibly proud of what she and our client have achieved together.

💙 A Special Thank You to Elena 💙

At Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd, we are incredibly proud of our dedicated team members who go above and beyond for the people we support.

We would like to give a special thank you to Elena, who recently responded with compassion, professionalism, and kindness when a client urgently needed to attend hospital following a GP request.

Elena personally transported our client to hospital and remained by their side until family members arrived, ensuring they were safe, comfortable, and had everything they needed.

This level of care, commitment, and support truly reflects the values we strive to uphold every day. Our client's family have expressed their heartfelt gratitude, and we would also like to say a huge thank you to Elena for her outstanding dedication.

Anybody need a gardener? We know some really wonderful ones!

This week we planted some cyclamen and everyone got to take them home to enjoy 🙂

You spoke and we listened. No garden you say, well we have just the right plants to enjoy in or out the garden.

It was lovely seeing everyone planting and chatting together about past times. Time spent together the blue brigade way!

Food glorious food 😋

Quite often people think they have to eat a ready meal or something easy when infact they don't.

Here at UMW we promote independence and where possible we'll prepare and cook meals with you.

Statistics have shown people who prepare their food are more likely to eat their meals. We help you along the way and its always your choice because choices matter and we are only there to support you not take over.

Eating a nutritional diet matters even more so with age and its vital to ensure you receive the nutrients you need.

Your meals cooked just the way you like it.

The UMW day centre is described by others as a
' home from home '.

We have cleverly incorporated our office side and the day centre as one. We wanted no out of bounds areas, no places you can't go and more of everyone welcome.

We encourage physical and mental stimulation, promoting independence. Our day residents have full use of the kitchen area and anywhere including sitting at our desks if they want to!

This different approach is what sets us apart from many and its really not hard, you listen and work with what is needed.

UMW is family through and through and having our day residents with us and spending time with them, whether its washing up and nattering or playing domino's together to reading the paper and putting the world to rights! It all matters!

Anyone is welcome to pop in. We always have free tea and coffee and lots of biscuits guaranteed!

Our approach is also dementia lead and disability inclusive.
We have a disabled toilet and wheelchair accessible entrance.

When your ready and in your own time why not pop in and see for yourself. We've had loads of new faces popping in lately and its so wonderful to see. If you know someone who could benefit from our day centre please pass on our details or call and speak to us.
