☀️ KIDS Nature, paint making and abstract art workshop! 🌳

Wednesday 5th August 10-12pm/ age 5+ to tweens / £20 / drop off workshop.

Did you know that at The Makers we have a lovely area of private woodland? It is home to badgers, foxes, numerous birds and families of muntjac deer! I love to share this beautiful space during my classes, and for this lovely session we will be immersing ourselves in nature to make ART !

First we will take our baskets and gather natural treasures from the Makers garden and woodland, we will be respectfully spotting insects and wildlife along the way 🤗

Next we will get busy mixing, and mashing natural paints and making our own experimental nature paintbrushes 🖌️

Time to make some beautiful artwork!

But it doesn’t stop there.. after all that fun we will get creative making abstract land art on the ground and hanging nature bundles to take home.

This will be a beautiful session for children that love nature, being outdoors and making experimental, process based art ! 🙌

☀️ KIDS Sewing circle ⭕️

☀️ when ? Summer holidays - Wednesday 29th July 10-12pm / £20 / age 8+

This promises to be a beautiful session for children who are keen to learn, want to brush up their skills or love the mechanics of sewing and want to learn more, in a relaxed no pressure environment among nature!

We will start from the beginning..

* threading needles.
* types of threads and what’s best to use when.
* tying knots.
* starting and finishing your work.
* making simple stitches together and moving on to more advanced stitches if needed.
* enjoy sewing on buttons and functional sewing 🪡
* explore colour
*learn how to use scissors safely and effectively to cut fabric.

Take home a small experimental sewn piece, to continue working on or finished as is 🥰

This will be a relaxed, no pressure session in the gardens of The Makers, sitting on a blanket and learning together.

If the weather is not on our side it will be an equally lovely session in the cosy cabin.

This will suit children who are interested in sewing and keen to learn or progress their skills. Suitable for beginners or avid sewists who want to brush up or advance their stitch repertoire. Age 8+ to tween and teen.

What crafty projects are you working on? Have you learnt any new crafts lately ? 🤗

I’ve been making tiny amulets! Inspired by a book I’ve been reading ( ‘Cave of the Bear Clan’, which is amazing !! Who’s read it !?) amulets are thought to protect, and give you comfort. I love sewing tiny pieces like this (2x2 inch roughly) I just need to add beads !

☀️ KIDS summer holiday workshops

Let’s have a summer of creativity, arts, crafts, sunshine and smiles 🙌 please check ages for each workshop. Payment is on booking via PayPal. Comment or message to book! 📖

Wednesday 29th July 10-12pm / £20 / age 8+ sewing circle - join me for a lovely relaxed sewing circle in the Makers garden, we will start with the basic needle threading, tying knots, making simple stitches and then moving on to more advanced embroidery stitches, if the weather is good we will be outside among the plants and animals! A lovely session learning practical and fun sewing skills.

Saturday 1st August - Felt Animal softies - 10-12pm/ £20 / age 7 + design and sew your own little felt softie animal, and then enjoy making it some accessories!

Wednesday 5th August - Paint Making and Abstract Nature /10-12pm / £20 / age 5+ - get stuck in and get arty in this fun outdoor session making your own paint brushes AND paint, mix it and mash it and then enjoy making your own abstract artworks!

Saturday 15th August - watercolour unicorns - 10-12pm / £20 / age 8+ come and paint magical unicorns 🦄 practice your drawing skills and learn the art of watercolour to create beautiful, fluid artworks. Enjoy metallic paints and adding a touch of sparkle !✨

Saturday 15th August - 2-4pm / £20 / age 11+ tweens and teens - needle felted nature badges - make an adorable needle felted badger and fox 🦊 badge 🦡 a lovely session for nature loving tweens and teens !

FULL Wednesday 19th August - 10-12pm / £20 / age 7+ Caterpillar Sock friend - Make your own adorable sock caterpillar softie, I have SO many cool colours to choose from! use sewing, painting and sculptural techniques in this fun and colourful workshop, make your own big caterpillar !

Saturday 29th august - Felted Octopus / 10-12pm / age 11+ - An epic workshop making your own felted custom octopus. We will be using wet AND needle felting techniques to create this amazing, detailed, palm sized octopus in your chosen colour scheme 🤩

Friday 31st July - Winston the mouse 🐭 - 7-9:30 - £30 needle felt your own adorable little Winston (or Winnie !) learn new needle felting techniques, take home your own adorable mouse reading a tiny book. (Workshop includes making a mouse with a readymade tiny book, it doesn’t include making a bookshelf or rug unless you want to stay another 3 hours 🤣)

Includes homemade cake and tea ☕️

Friday 26th June 1-3pm - TWEEN hang out - board games and social time in the Makers garden and cabin £7

FULL Friday 17th July 1-3pm - TWEEN hang out - £7
Join us for a chilled outdoor social session of board games, colouring, chatting, bring your own activity or game to share with the group if you wish. This session is outdoors in The Makers gardens among nature and animals.

2 spaces (Young home Ed )- age 7-11- £20 - Monday 3rd August 10:30-12:30- walking sticks! - a brilliant outdoor session making your own unique walking stick using gnarly branches and clay! We will then embark on a magical woodland walk to discover wildlife, insects, animals and trees.

Friday 14th August 1-3pm - TWEENhang out - summer picnic 🧺 session - £7
BYO picnic and enjoy a beautiful lunch and games with your friends outside in The Makers gardens. Don’t worry Joyful the pet pig will not be joining us for this one 😜

(Young home Ed ) age 7-11 -Monday 24th August 10:30-12:30pm - £20
Mini nature painting - learn how to make your own mini canvas to take home blank and paint later ! We will then paint a beautiful nature themed artwork, learn how to layer and use acrylic paint to create a carefully thought out artwork. Then get crafty making a twig frame, to finish off our session we will go to the woods and create our own woodland gallery of all our artworks together.

Who’s ready for SUMMER holiday kids workshops 🤩 !?

I have some lovely sessions planned throughout the holidays. Weather permitting most sessions will be outside, in our beautiful gardens, surrounded by nature, wildlife and animals !
