Serving Oakville as your Mayor has been the privilege and honour of my life.

Oakville has chosen new leadership, and I respect that choice. Congratulations to Mayor-elect Jeff Knoll and the new council. I wish them every success.

Thank you to every resident, volunteer and supporter who stood with me over these 20 years. Oakville is a remarkable place. It always will be.

Thank you, Oakville.

It opened March 31.

The Sixteen Mile Community Centre and Library at 3070 Neyagawa Boulevard is open: an 18,000 square foot library branch, a four pad arena, indoor pools, a community centre, and a park with sports fields, courts, a playground and trails. More park features arrive this summer.

Not a rendering. Not a promise. Open.

And it is not the last one. The Parks, Recreation and Library Master Plan that Council approved in 2024 commits to 33 new sports fields, 22 new ball diamonds and up to 25 new tennis courts for North Oakville, along with more community centres and libraries as the area grows. The plan runs to 2051.

If you moved to North Oakville in the last few years, you do not have to take anyone's word for what is coming. The plan is public. Read it.

Eighteen years with the brand, and now a café of their own inside Oakville GO.

Congratulations to Yaling and Quan Ma on opening Second Cup Café at 214 Cross Ave, right inside the station. They are Oakville residents, they have been part of the Second Cup network for eighteen years, and they are now serving commuters who move through that station every morning.

Second Cup began as a single kiosk in 1975. Fifty-one years later, another has opening in our GO station.

Let's wish them all congratulations and much success!

#1 in Ontario. #2 in Canada.

The Globe and Mail ranked all 454 communities in Canada. Among cities of 100,000 to 500,000, Oakville placed first in Ontario and second in the country.

The ranking that matters most is yours:
✅ 90% of residents are satisfied with Town services
✅ 82% say Oakville is a better place to live than most of the GTA

That is 20 years of good choices. Together, we will keep building a strong Oakville for generations to come.

Congratulations to Beverly Goodman on her appointment as Chief of Staff to Ford President and CEO Jim Farley!

Bev began her career at Ford Canada as a finance intern and rose to top leadership. It is a credit to her talent and hard work.

As Mayor of Town of Oakville and Chair of the Auto Mayors caucus, I am grateful for how she led the transformation of the Oakville Assembly Complex, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited. Bev has been a great partner to our community.

I look forward to welcoming Ivan Boykin as the new President and CEO of Ford of Canada. Together, the Town of Oakville and Ford will continue our strong partnership as this new chapter of Super Duty production begins.
