🌎 What if the Atlantic brought us closer together rather than keeping us apart?

That’s the ambition behind new cooperation announced at the EU–Canada Summit: turning the Atlantic into a bridge. The EU and Canada have agreed to expand opportunities to study, work and build lasting connections across the Atlantic.

A key part of this is . The EU and Canada aim to deepen cooperation under the programme, including by launching negotiations towards deeper participation in Erasmus+.

For students, young people, and educators, this means more opportunities to gain international experience, develop new skills, exchange ideas and build lasting connections across the Atlantic.

And the first concrete results are already on the horizon. In 2027:
🎓 A Study in Europe Fair in Toronto will showcase Erasmus+ and other opportunities to study in Europe and help connect Canadian and European higher education institutions.

🔬 An EU–Canada Jean Monnet network on critical raw materials will bring together academia and policymakers to exchange knowledge and strengthen cooperation on this strategic issue.

What if it's the bike that needs to adapt, not the rider? 🚲

At Join2Bike, people with and without disabilities cycle together. For some riders, standard bikes can create a barrier to taking part.

Through Erasmus+ funding, join2bike volunteers joined a workshop in Germany, where they learned how specialist bikes and trikes can be adapted, maintained and customised to meet different needs.

They brought that practical know-how back to the club in Belgium.

And for one join2bike volunteer living with multiple sclerosis (MS), the experience became personal too. Inspired by her experience, she and her husband bought two second-hand trikes that connect as a tandem. Now they can ride together. 💛

Because making sport more inclusive can start with learning something new. 💪
