Don’t let BCC waste vouchers go to waste! ♻️

Jacaranda Housing has waste vouchers available for tenants living in multi-residential unit complexes. If you would like vouchers to dispose of unwanted household or green waste, please contact our team. We can post them to you, or you’re welcome to collect them from our office.

Vouchers expire on 31 August, so now is a great time to clear out unwanted items and dispose of them responsibly. Please remember that bulk items should not be placed in household or shared complex bins.

Don't let your waste vouchers go to waste! ♻️

If you have last financial year’s waste vouchers sitting in a drawer, put them to use and clear out some clutter before they expire on 31 August.

✅ Each household receives 10 free waste vouchers every financial year
✅ You can use them for general or green waste at our resource recovery centres
✅ Each voucher covers up to 100 kg of waste
✅ Need to dispose of more? You can use up to 10 vouchers per transaction

Today and always, we remember Velvet Pesu, a woman whose remarkable spirit was grounded in love, generosity, and deep care for others.

Velvet had a rare gift. She gave freely and wholeheartedly, her time, her music, her art, her warmth, her laughter, and her hugs. She loved without condition and never asked for anything in return. To know Velvet was to feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.

Velvet was a devoted mother who adored her daughters, and her love for them was evident in everything she did. Music and art were not just passions for Velvet; they were expressions of her generosity, shared openly with our community and woven into so many moments of connection.

Velvet was a founding member of Jacaranda Housing and a member of the Inner West Housing Co-Operative, which merged with Jacaranda in 2012. Her commitment to community, belonging, and care for others helped shape the values that continue to guide us today.

Velvet will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity, for the way she loved everyone, for her gentle strength, and for her unwavering belief in everyone.

We will never forget you, Velvet.
We will miss your laugh, your hugs, and your beautiful spirit.
