SES Kilmore is incredibly proud to congratulate Shelly on graduating from the 2026 Ready2Lead Program. πŸŽ‰

The Ready2Lead Program, delivered by Life Saving Victoria, brings together emerging female leaders from across the Emergency Management sector, including VICSES, CFA, FRV, Ambulance Victoria, Parks Victoria, Life Saving Victoria and the Aquatic Industry. The program is designed to build leadership skills, confidence and capability while creating strong networks across our sector.

Over the past 10 weeks, Shelly has dedicated her time to developing her leadership skills while continuing to support SES Kilmore and our community. Her commitment to learning, growth and stepping outside her comfort zone is something to be proud of.

Shelly is a valued member of our Unit, and we have no doubt the knowledge, skills and connections she has gained through the program will continue to benefit both SES Kilmore and the communities we serve.

Congratulations, Shelly, on this fantastic achievement. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing the positive impact you continue to make within our Unit and the wider community. πŸ§‘πŸ’™

πŸ† SES Kilmore Awards Night 2026 πŸ†

Last Saturday night, our members, families, supporters, and special guests came together to celebrate another fantastic year of volunteering, service, and community spirit at the SES Kilmore Awards Night.

The evening was an opportunity to recognise the dedication, commitment, and hard work of our volunteers who give up countless hours to support the communities of Mitchell Shire and beyond. From responding to emergencies and training exercises to community engagement events and behind-the-scenes support, every member plays an important role in making our unit what it is.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients and nominees. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and you should be incredibly proud of your achievements.

We were also proud to recognise a number of our valued community supporters and partners. The support we receive from local businesses, organisations, and community members helps us continue to deliver the services our community relies on.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the night such a success. Special thanks to our Awards Committee, volunteers, and supporters who assisted with organising the event.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Jess, Darren and the team at Hogans Hotel for allowing us to host the evening in their function room and for looking after everyone throughout the night. Thank you to Codie from Codie Lee Photography for capturing the memories that we will cherish for years to come, and to Form A Sign Australia for providing the outstanding awards that recognised our members' achievements.

Most importantly, thank you to all SES Kilmore members. Whether you are responding to jobs, supporting fundraising activities, maintaining equipment, or helping at community events, your contribution makes a difference every day.

Here's to another year of service, teamwork, and helping our community when they need us most. πŸ§‘πŸ’™

🚧 SES Kilmore New Unit Build – May Update 🚧

Things are really starting to come together at our new SES Kilmore facility!

Over the past month we’ve seen some massive progress onsite:
πŸ—οΈ The roof is now on
🧱 Brickwork and external cladding are underway
πŸͺŸ Window frames are in
πŸ› οΈ Internal walls are going up
⚑ Electrical and data cabling is being installed

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes and it’s exciting to watch the building take shape week by week.

At this stage we are still on track for an August move in and we can’t wait to welcome our members and community into the new home of SES Kilmore.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping bring this project to life. πŸ’™

🚨🧑 WOW Day 2026 🧑🚨

What a fun-filled and action-packed day it was for the SES Kilmore crew today helping celebrate WOW Day across our community!

Our members hit the road nice and early, starting the morning with visits to 2 local kindergartens in Kilmore before heading up to Broadford to visit another centre there. After a busy morning, we made our way back down to Kilmore for lunch at one of our amazing supporters, Kemp's Bakery . Safe to say the crew left very full after some yummy food! πŸ”πŸ₯€

After lunch, it was back on the road again as we headed down to Wallan to visit 3 more local kindergartens. While in Wallan, we also popped into Hogans Hotel in Wallan to have a quick chat about our Awards Night this Saturday night.

From there it was onto our final stop for the day in Wandong πŸš’

It was fantastic seeing all the smiles on the kids’ faces as they explored the trucks, met our volunteers, and learnt a little more about what SES does in the community. The crew was blown away by all the amazing thank you cards, drawings, and posters the kids made for us throughout the day πŸ–οΈπŸ’™πŸ§‘

After a very long day and plenty of kilometres travelled, we fuelled the truck back up and returned to the unit thinking it was home time…

But not quite! Just as members were about to jump in their cars, the pager went off for a Priority 1 rescue call to a Road Crash Accident with reports of a possible person trapped.

A huge thank you to all the local kindergartens, schools, and their amazing educators who welcomed us in today and helped celebrate WOW Day with SES Kilmore. We loved being part of your day! πŸ™ŒπŸš¨

National Road Safety Week. This year's theme is 'Pledge to Drive so Others Survive', giving us all an opportunity to make sure we're looking out for each other on the roads.

To start the week, it is important to remember the 1,300 lives lost on Australian roads each year. Over 40,000 people are also injured each year on our roads.

All road users have a small but important role to play in helping to reduce lives lost and injuries.

Emergency services have a vital role in responding to accidents, saving lives and making sure road users are driving safely. Shout out to the following Victorian emergency services that respond to incidents and proactively keep us safe:
