The Ministry team in Matabeleland South Province hosted Provincial Culture Month Celebrations at Sangulube High School in Mangwe District, following the successful national launch held in Bulawayo Metropolitan Province.
Held under the theme "Cultural Diversity: Advancing Vision 2030," the event brought together traditional leaders, government departments, the business community, school children, and local communities in a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwe's rich cultural heritage.
A key highlight of the day was the IXhiba Dialogue Session, which engaged learners from Sangulube High School and neighbouring schools in discussions aimed at addressing social challenges affecting communities, particularly drug and substance abuse. The platform provided young people with an opportunity to learn from traditional leaders and community elders while promoting positive values and responsible citizenship.
The celebrations were graced by Hon. Dingumuzi Phuthi, Deputy Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services and Member of Parliament, alongside an esteemed delegation of traditional leaders led by Chief Bango, the Guest of Honour, and hosted by Chief Sangulube. Other chiefs in attendance included Chief Hobodo, Chief Fuyana, Chief Mphini, Chief Masendu, Chief Hikwa, Chief Madlambuzi, Chief Bidi, and Chief Malaba.
The event reaffirmed the important role of culture in nation-building, preserving identity, fostering social cohesion, and contributing towards the attainment of Vision 2030.
