During the difficult years of colonialism, it was women who carried courage in their hearts. They sheltered freedom fighters, marched for justice, endured hardship, and kept the spirit of the nation alive when hope was under attack.

After independence, African women have continued to rise—building families, leading communities, shaping institutions, and driving the development of our nations with resilience and purpose.

No patriotism runs deeper than that of a woman.
