Bindura Municipality wishes to inform all residents, stakeholders, pedestrians, and motorists that Leopold Takawira Avenue and Josiah Magama Tongogara Avenue, which were closed in June following the collapse of the road, have now been reopened after the successful completion of repair works.

The collapse, which occurred near Novafeed along Border Gezi Road, was caused by illegal mining activities and created a large cavity that posed a serious danger to motorists, pedestrians, and the general public.

Council, working together with Freda Rebecca Gold Mine, successfully carried out the repair works. The road has now been tested and certified safe for use.

Following the collapse, Council took precautionary measures by closing the affected roads to safeguard lives and prevent further damage while comprehensive repair works were undertaken.

Bindura Municipality sincerely appreciates the patience and cooperation of all residents and stakeholders during this period.
