𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗨𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗝𝗜 𝗟𝗪𝗔 𝗞𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗔 𝗞𝗪𝗔 𝗡𝗭𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗜 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬
The Lunda-speaking people of Kakoma Chiefdom in Mwinilunga District yesterday gathered for the annual Lubanji Lwa Kulema Kwa Nzambi Traditional Ceremony.
Hosted by His Royal Highness Chief Kakoma, this cultural event focuses on preserving the Lunda culture while paying homage to God for the abundance of the district’s natural resources.
This year’s ceremony which was held under the theme “Preserving our Culture, our Identity, our Pride, embracing our future,” was graced by North Western Provincial Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr. Luckson Mulumbi.
Delivering his keynote speech, the Deputy Permanent Secretary highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “We gather not only to celebrate our culture and heritage, but also the values that unite us as a people.”
He emphasized that such traditional ceremonies are vital reminders of our roots and powerful platforms for preserving the customs that shape our identity. “Development cannot thrive without unity and peace,” he noted, cautioning that “no investor anywhere in the world would risk going to a place where there are conflicts.”
Urging citizens to protect the peace Zambia enjoys, he highlighted the importance of traditional leaders in instilling values in today's society.
“It is our responsibility as citizens to pass on our beliefs, customs, and languages to the coming generation. By sharing our stories and embracing our heritage, we ensure that the spirit of the Lunda-speaking people remains alive and resonates in the hearts of our children for years to come.”
He further affirmed the government’s support, stating that the New Dawn Government, under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema is committed to promoting national values and principles, including morality, ethics, patriotism, national unity, democracy, human dignity, equity, social justice, and good governance, aiming to foster development
