COURTESY VISIT

H.E. Ambassador Hawa Hassan Mohamed, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Zambia and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Zambia, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ali Saad Alkahtani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Zambia.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as coordination on Arab League activities in Zambia and matters of mutual interest. 🇸🇴🇸🇦

H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, has extended his warmest congratulations to H.E. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, on his re-election.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud noted that President Hichilema’s renewed mandate reflects the trust and confidence of the Zambian people in his leadership.

He expressed his readiness to work closely with President Hichilema to further strengthen the longstanding friendly relations and cooperation between Somalia and Zambia, and to advance the shared interests of the two brotherly nations.

AU-COMESA Short-Term Observation Mission for Zambia’s 13 August General Elections.

With 93 observers from 29 African countries, the Mission reflected broad continental and regional participation in Zambia’s electoral process.

A valuable experience and an honour to contribute alongside colleagues from across Africa.

Congratulations to the people of Zambia for conducting a peaceful and orderly election. It was a great honour to be part of the election observation process and to witness firsthand the democratic spirit of the Zambian people.

Ambassador Hawa Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Zambia, attended the 2026 Elections Peace Pledge Signing Ceremony in Lusaka, where leaders of Zambia's political parties reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful, free, fair, and credible elections by signing the National Peace Pledge ahead of the 13 August 2026 General Elections. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia commends this important initiative in support of peace, democracy, national unity, and the strengthening of Zambia's democratic process.
