Puku are highly dependent on water and are almost always found within a few kilometres of it, particularly near rivers like the Lunga River that runs through Lolelung Private Reserve. Their habitat often overlaps with that of the related Red Lechwe, another water-dependent antelope, which Lolelunga are busy restocking.
