The ERB has undertaken a Fuel Marking and Product Quality Monitoring Programme (FMPQMP) Media Tour, giving media practitioners first-hand exposure to how petroleum product quality is monitored across the supply chain.
Under the theme “From Depot to Pump” approach, journalists accompanied ERB technical officers to selected sites in Lusaka to observe fuel marking, sampling, testing, inspections and compliance monitoring in practice.
The Media Tour included visits to TAZAMA Lusaka Depot, Korridor a consumer site and a retail filling station, providing journalists with practical insight into how fuel quality is monitored at different stages of the petroleum supply chain.
Through demonstrations and interactions with ERB technical officers, the media gained a better understanding of how the FMPQMP helps detect and deter fuel adulteration, promote compliance and ensure that petroleum products supplied to consumers meet the required quality standards.
The engagement forms part of the ERB’s continued efforts to strengthen transparency, enhance public understanding of its regulatory role and equip the media with accurate information to support consumer education.
