Former Nkana FC defender Mathews Banda scored his first goal of the season for Bohemians Praha netting for their B team in a 3-1 over Admira Praha in the Czech third tier.

Banda has kicked off his first full season at Bohemians Praha having joined the club in the latter part of last season from Kafue Celtic.

He has made five appearances this season, three with the first team and two with the B team.

These days we commemorate the 90th birthday of Mr. Antonín Holý (1 September 1936 – 16 July 2012) whose work has changed lives of thousends of people around the world.

Czech chemist who in 1984, together with his team, discovered tenofovir – substance that became the basis for medication treating hepatitis B and HIV.

Český chemik, který se svým týmem v roce 1984 objevil tenofovir – sloučeninu, která se později stala základem antivirotik proti hepatitidě B a HIV. Holý tak významně přispěl k léčbě HIV/AIDS i omezení dopadů pandemie.

Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, and H.E. Mutale Nalumango, Vice-President of the Republic of Zambia, together with other members of the diplomatic corps.

MEDEVAC czech is one of the most successful cooperations between the Czech Republic and Zambia. We are happy to see another group of doctors and nurses from Lewanika General Hospital and from University Teaching Hospital heading to Prague and Olomouc to further their skills and specialization to better serve their patients in Zambia. They will be paired with 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and with Motol and Homolka hospitals.

Today, we remember the victims of the 1968 invasion of former Czechoslovakia and the subsequent occupation by Warsaw Pact forces. We honour all those whose lives were tragically marked by the events of August 1968 and the years that followed. We will never forget. 🕊️

For the last 3 months, Martin Huslík was part of our Embassy family in Lusaka. Martin quickly became an indispensable part of not only our Economic and Development Team, but the whole Embassy. He helped with managing our ongoing projects and relationships with our local partner organizations, helped to set up official events and even got to visit the Mufulira Mine!

We wish you all the best for your future endeavours and studies. And remember, you promised to come back for a visit 🙂

We are proud and happy to share the information about an exciting exhibition by a Czech artist, Radu Tesaro Kirby, at The Space | Agora Village on Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd August.
Radu Tesaro Kirby is not a newcomer to Zambia, she lived and worked in Zambia for almost five years (2004-2009) and her art is inspired by this beautiful continent. Please save the date for this unique occasion!

Save The Dates!

An exciting exhibition by international artist, Radu Tesaro Kirby, will be open at The Space | Agora Village on Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd August.

Radu was born in Prague in 1979 and spent part of her childhood in South Bohemia. She now lives in Tábor.

From 1986 to 1997, she studied piano at the School of Arts, and after 1997, traveled extensively, living in places like New Zealand, Germany, and Canada. In 2001, she moved to Toronto to focus on painting and studied classical techniques at the Michael John Angel Studio.

In 2004, Radu relocated to Zambia, where she lived and exhibited for nearly five years.

Working mainly with oil on canvas using a palette knife, her art focuses on African themes - portraits, landscapes, and wildlife - but also includes sports subjects.

This highly anticipated exhibition of Radu’s latest works is the first in Zambia since 2019, and we look forward to being able to welcome you to this art experience at The Space | Agora Village.
