ECZ Launches the 2026 National Election Results Centre

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) today, 12th August 2026, officially launched the 2026 National Election Results Centre at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

The National Election Results Centre will serve as the central hub for the announcement of Presidential Election results, bringing together key electoral stakeholders as the results process unfolds. Its purpose is to facilitate an orderly, transparent, and credible results process, while providing a recognized platform from which the nation will receive official information regarding the Presidential Election results.

In her remarks, ECZ Chairperson, Mrs. Mwangala Zaloumis, SC, emphasized that the establishment of the Centre marks an important milestone in preparations for the 2026 General Election, particularly for one of the most closely followed stages of any election, the announcement of results.

She noted that once voting concludes, attention will naturally shift to the counting of votes and, ultimately, the declaration of results. It is therefore essential that, even before polling begins, the Commission provides clarity on the arrangements in place for this critical phase of the electoral process.

The Commission will undertake all necessary measures to ensure that results are received, processed, and announced in strict accordance with prescribed procedures.

Stakeholders and the public are encouraged to respect this responsibility and allow the process to proceed with the care and meticulousness it requires.
