𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗘𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗧 – 𝗔𝗖𝗖 𝗗𝗚

Anti-Corruption Commission Director General Mrs. Daphne Chabu, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to employee welfare, describing workers as the institution’s greatest asset in the fight against corruption.

Speaking last week on Friday during the Commission’s commemoration of the 2026 Labour Day celebrations, Mrs. Chabu said Labour Day recognises the vital role employees play in institutional growth and national development.

She noted that this year’s theme, “Securing Zambia’s Future of Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All,” underscores the importance of protecting employees through sustainable employment practices and social protection measures.

The Director General said the Commission organised activities aimed at addressing key staff welfare issues, including pension contributions and benefits, retirement preparedness, investment opportunities, and mental health and wellness.

During the Labour Day Commemorations, the Commission engaged external resource persons to deliver presentations on various staff welfare matters. National Pension Scheme Authority - NAPSA conducted a session on pension contributions and benefits under the Scheme, while Future-Search Zambia facilitated discussions on retirement preparedness and investment planning.

In addition, renowned author and mental health advocate Dr. Brian Chishimba delivered a presentation on mental health and workplace wellness, highlighting the importance of maintaining psychological well-being and fostering healthy work environments.

ACC INDUCTS NSTC, NEAC INTEGRITY COMMITTEES

The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday hosted an Induction Training Workshop for Integrity Committee members and Secretariats of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the National Economic Advisory Council (NEAC).

Speaking on behalf of the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Commission Mrs. Daphne Soko Chabu, Commission Director for the Corruption Prevention Mrs. Glenda Mungalaba commended the management of both institutions for their demonstrated commitment to operationalising the Integrity Committee, emphasizing that improving management and enhancing efficiency in public service delivery are critical components of any national strategy to reduce corruption.

Mrs. Chabu stressed that the fight against corruption directly impacts governance and that every individual has an essential role to play. She reminded participants of the crucial roles their institutions play in national development including advancing science, technology and innovation to contribute meaningfully to the country’s growth.

Meanwhile, National Science and Technology Council Chief Executive Officer Prof. Michelo Syakalima noted that scientific progress and national development cannot thrive where corruption and unethical conduct exist hence the need to develop institutional integrity as a foundation for public trust.

Prof. Syakalima urged the participants to assess corruption risks within the institutions and build a culture of accountability by encouraging ethical conduct among members of staff.

The Commission is this week training over 10 members of staff as Integrity Committee members from National Science and Technology Council and National Economic Advisory Council.

ACC EXHIBITS AT THE 4TH JUNIOR FARMER AGRICULTURE SHOW

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) participated in the fourth edition of the 2026 Junior Farmer Agriculture Show held in Lusaka on Friday, 22nd May, 2026 under the theme, “Promoting Business and Civic Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship among Young Learners.”

The exhibition brought together over 1,000 pupils from more than 30 schools at the Showgrounds to empower young learners with agricultural knowledge and practical skills aimed at building a productive and self-reliant generation, while preparing them for a future in agribusiness, food production and entrepreneurship.

Aligning with the theme, the ACC took the opportunity to share valuable insights on the fight against corruption and the importance of integrity in business and entrepreneurship for sustainable development.

To add flavour to the show, the Commission also held a quiz competition where pupils won exciting prizes such as branded T-shirts, juice bottles, rulers, and ACC reading materials.
